COMPACTORS

PROFESSIONAL TRASH AND RECYCLING MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

REDUCE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR TRASH AND RECYCLING

Why Should I Use A Compactor?

Traditional methods of waste handling/transportation are fast becoming prohibitive in cost. The costs of operating a truck and the distances to the disposal and or recycling site are increasing at an alarming rate. These costs must be borne by the waste or recycling generator in the form of higher transportation costs. Therefore, waste generators must reduce these costs by disposing of more refuse or recyclables per trip. Reduction in your volume…….COMPACTION.

Some form of compaction equipment provides the most viable method of reducing costs irrespective of whether the material is pure waste or recyclables. The ultimate goal is to reduce the volume and number of times that waste is picked up. A properly designed system will not only reduce hauling costs, but one may expect reduced labor costs, eliminate of pilferage, and reduced waste storage problems, just to name a few.

In today’s environment one must always consider mating a waste compaction system with a complimentary recycling compaction system. The more that is recycled, the less that will have to be taken to the landfill…savings in transportation and dump fees …. Cost avoidance.

Benefits of Compaction:

  • Discourages Scavengers
  • Saves Labor
  • Reduces Collection costs
  • Reduces Insect/Rodent problems
  • Prevents Windblown Trash
  • Reduces Fire Hazard
  • Odor Control
  • Saves inside Store Space
  • Saves outside Parking Spaces
  • Extends Pavement Life
  • Stops Pilferage
  • Prevents unauthorized access to your trash
  • Prevents unauthorized disposal

Not all generators of solid waste can justify compaction equipment. A convenience store with one 6 cubic yard container emptied once a week would not need a compactor. Larger volume waste generators are more likely prospects. As a guideline anybody who generates 24 cubic yards or waste per week may benefit from a compactor.
